Xingyao code (Xingyao / Y-Code) is an open-source AI coding partner that runs on your own machine. It is not a chat box but a teammate that can act: read your project, edit across files, run commands, execute tests, and keep your preferences as long-term memory. Terminal TUI and GUI share one core engine; fully open under MIT. Core highlights — Real execution, not only advice: 29 built-in tools—file I/O, code search (ripgrep), command run, web fetch, symbol lookup, text-to-image, and more—so AI finishes work in your workspace. Sub-agents + plan mode: complex tasks become dependency-aware plans; explore / implement / test / review sub-agents dispatch in parallel, auto-retry on failure, with pause, resume, and rollback. Knows you better over time: four long-term memory types (preferences / feedback / project context / references) plus background Dream cleanup; sessions in local SQLite; every AI edit has a snapshot you can undo by turn. Your models: no vendor lock-in—OpenAI / Anthropic / DeepSeek / Kimi / Zhipu GLM and other major protocols; primary/secondary model split and smart routing to save tokens by task complexity.
