OpenPets is an animated pet platform for desktop personalization and developer workflows. Browse, preview, and install virtual pets from a shared atlas so they live on your screen. Control pet behavior, extend with plugins, and connect AI coding tools; or build pet packs with sprites, animation, and metadata, submit for review, and publish to the atlas. [Core features] Pet atlas install: browse styles, preview, and add via install command; installed pets move on screen as daily companions. Custom pet creation: packs with sprites, animation, and metadata; follow directory conventions and submit for review; approved pets appear in the atlas. Plugin task extensions: sandboxed JavaScript plugins adjust behavior and add useful tasks—focus timers, rest or water reminders, mood check-ins, custom actions and commands.
