nanobot is a lightweight open-source personal AI Agent from the University of Hong Kong HKUDS team for developers, tech teams, and users who want a self-hosted assistant. Install on a PC or server, interact via WebUI, terminal, or chat apps, and let it call tools, memory, and external services by task. A compact Agent core supports long-running work, model switching, and local workspace management. Configure LLM services, file and Shell ops, web search, MCP tools, scheduled jobs, and chat channels—fit for a long-running personal assistant or an Agent runtime embedded in business systems. Core features — Multi-entry interaction: WebUI, terminal, and chat apps; manage sessions in the browser or talk via Telegram, Discord, Feishu, WeChat, and more. Tools and MCP extensions: built-in file I/O, Shell, web search, scraping, image generation, and schedules, plus MCP services and installable Agent plugins. Memory and workspace: session history, long-term memory, and workspace files keep project context across multi-turn and long-running tasks.
