# Clean Your TV

CleanYourTV is an open-source TV desktop cleanup project for Android TV and Google TV users. It helps cut home-screen ads, recommendations, and unwanted preinstalls, and swaps in a cleaner app launcher so common video apps and TV settings are easier to find. Connect a computer and the TV to the same Wi-Fi and, with an AI coding assistant that can run commands, follow project prompts to identify the device, back up config, disable services, and install the new desktop. No Root—mainly package disables—plus restore tools; compatibility depends on TV model and system; cleanup focuses on the system desktop and preinstalled services. Core features Ad and preinstall cleanup: identify ad, recommendation, and telemetry packages by TV model and disable unwanted components to cut home-screen noise. Clean TV desktop: an Apple TV–like app launcher that groups common apps and keeps app list, input sources, network, and system settings. Theme and layout: change colors, wallpaper, app arrangement, and items per row; tune animations by habit and device performance. Config backup and restore: record package state and original desktop before changes; restore scripts can re-enable components and switch back.
