Deputy dean of Tsinghua’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence, director of its State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Technology and Systems, and chief scientist at BAAI. Recipient of the second Xplorer Prize, an MIT TR35 China Innovator, and Asia’s second IEEE AI 10 to Watch scholar. Ranked first among Chinese machine-learning scholars in CSRankings for 2011-2021 and selected for the national Ten Thousand Talents leading program. AAAI Fellow, IEEE Fellow and associate editor of IEEE TPAMI. Served as area chair at ICML and NeurIPS over multiple years, with more than a hundred papers in leading conferences and journals including ICML, NeurIPS, IJCAI, AAAI, JMLR and PAMI.
