Holds a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering and graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Science and Technology of China, studying under Professor Thomas S. Huang, described as the father of computer vision and a member of four academies. Zhou Xi is chairman and general manager of CloudWalk Technology Group, and a doctoral supervisor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Selected for the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Hundred Talents Program and a State Council special allowance recipient. Former deputy director of the information institute and director of the intelligent multimedia technology research center at the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology. Lead recipient of the eighth Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Progress first prize, and leader or participant in more than 10 major national and provincial projects. Pioneered a hierarchical Gaussianized multimedia information representation system and real-time dynamic-object analysis framework. Published more than 60 papers in leading international venues, with results widely applied in AI.
