Xiao Xiangjiang, male, from Ningxiang, Hunan, born in 1980/12. Former director of the National University of Defense Technology’s interdisciplinary robotics research center, professor-level senior engineer and doctorate holder. President of the Hunan AI Association, expert in the Central Military Commission Equipment Development Department’s AI group and Hunan’s advanced manufacturing advisory committee. Founded Hunan Chaoneng Robotics Technology as chairman and general manager. Long researches intelligent robots and virtual reality. Led projects including a national new-generation AI challenge for family health service robots, a National Key R&D Program project on security robot technologies and the equipment department’s multi-purpose airport patrol robot project. Proposed new methods in robot design, navigation, positioning, human-computer interaction and virtual simulation. Received one military science and technology progress first prize and 1 second prize, holds 53 patents including 10 granted invention patents, authored more than 10 textbooks and monographs and over 10 papers, and received one third-class merit. Led development of China’s first family health companionship robot, child morning-check robot and airport patrol robot, and Hunan’s first full-size biped humanoid Xiangjiang 1. Products have been adopted in over 300 cities across more than 20 provinces and covered by over 200 media including Xinwen Lianbo and Time. Recognized as a Changsha Category C talent and Hunan technology entrepreneurship leader; in 2023 selected for Changsha’s advanced talent leadership program and Hunan technology entrepreneurship leadership, and the only Hunan honoree on the inaugural China Veteran Entrepreneurship Honor Roll.
