Born in Wuhan, Hubei, in 1990. Earned an undergraduate degree at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, a master’s degree at the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Automation and an engineering doctorate in Tsinghua University’s innovation leadership program in automation. Worked at Microsoft Research Asia, Samsung Research China and Horizon Robotics, where he led visual perception technology, and was a partner at PhiGent Robotics. An early Chinese entrepreneur in embodied intelligence and world models. GigaAI draws on Tsinghua’s intelligent vision laboratory in the automation department to build world models for robots.
