# OpenAI acquires Statsig at USD 1.1 billion valuation after nearly USD 6.5 billion IO acquisition

On 2025/9/5, CNBC reported that US company OpenAI had acquired product development startup Statsig at approximately USD 1.1 billion valuation. Statsig would continue operating independently, while CEO Vijaye Raji joined OpenAI as technology lead for its applications division. OpenAI had previously acquired IO for nearly USD 6.5 billion.
