# OpenAI reaches USD 10 billion annual revenue, driven by ChatGPT growth

On 2025/6/9, CNBC reported that OpenAI had reached USD 10 billion in annual revenue, driven by ChatGPT consumer products, business offerings and API sales, excluding Microsoft licensing revenue and one-off deals. It reached the figure less than three years after ChatGPT’s launch while pursuing a USD 40 billion funding plan.
