# Hestus raises USD 7.4 million in seed funding to bring AI to mechanical engineering

According to Unite.AI, on 2026/10/2, AI mechanical engineering design company Hestus raised USD 7.4 million in seed funding, led by Insight Partners with participation from Chalfen Ventures, Rock Yard Ventures, and Garage Capital. Based in San Mateo, California, US, it develops an AI sketch assistant for CAD software to turn engineering intent into manufacturable designs. It has served over 5,000 engineers and raised USD 8.9 million in total. Sohrab Haghighat and Kevin Chu co-founded the company.
